"I am 100% looking to pursue teaching as a career in the future which is something I never considered before working with Wave Learning Festival. The Wave administration made teaching my course, Introduction to Filmmaking, such a positive experience for me. I started out my class as a college student looking to share a couple of fun tips about filmmaking and I ended my class as an educator passionate about student engagement and educational equity. Thank you a million times to the Wave team!"

- Morgan, Wave 3 instructor

As an Engaged Seminars instructor, you will teach a seminar of your choice that runs for two to three weeks. Each group of seminars are called “Waves.”

In each of our Engaged Seminars, we are looking for an element of interactivity to promote active learning — the course should be discussion-based. Your class will meet about 2 - 3 times/week for a duration of 2 weeks, either during the week or on the weekend. This structure will give you more time to dig deeper into a topic that excites you, allowing your students to obtain a greater depth of knowledge. We encourage instructors to bring co-instructors (double the ideas, half the work!), though that is optional. Regardless of whether you onboard a co-instructor, you will have support throughout your course planning process: a member of our Seminars team will guide you through teaching in a virtual setting and help with course-planning.
